There are increasing numbers of ATM machines located and being constructed in the building setback area. While these proposals have been approved by Thromde in the past based on the grounds of public convenience and accessibility, they are starting to cause many issues on the grounds of compromising circulation space for emergencies, disruption of building line, lack of maintenance and being made of materials that are susceptible to the risk of burglary and vandalism, therefore, creating social issues within the neighborhood.
In light of this, Thromde has requested the banks to start installing ATM machines inside the building and to remove such existing structures from the setback within a year. This is also a request to the building owners to remove these structures within the next year as communicated to the banks.
