Upon the completion of two new waste Drop-Off Centers at Hejo and Kelki by the Bhutan Ecological Society, the facilities have now been officially handed over to Thimphu Thromde and are open to the public. With these additions the total number of operational Drop-Off Centers in Thimphu Thromde now stands at 11.
This initiative, implemented under the South Asia Co-operative Environment Programme (SACEP) and the PLEASE Project, was made possible through the collaboration of Gross International Nature (GIN) and the Bhutan Ecological Society (BES), in partnership with Thimphu Thromde. It aims to improve waste segregation and provide convenient disposal options for residents who miss the regular collection timings.
Thimphu Thromde extends its sincere gratitude to all partners for their invaluable support.
We also kindly remind the general public to help maintain cleanliness at all Drop-Off Centers.
