A high-level delegation led by the Hon’ble Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Secretary, and Resident Representative of UNDP Bhutan conducted a field visit to the ongoing stormwater drainage works from Sersang School to the Vegetable Market in Thimphu.
The visit was joined by the Thrompon and Executive Secretary of Thimphu Thromde, along with officials and engineers from Thimphu Thromde and officials from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport (MoIT).
During the visit, the delegation undertook a guided walk along Stretch 1 and Stretch 2 of the primary drain to inspect the ongoing works, review project progress, observe site conditions, and discuss key issues and updates related to the implementation of the project.
The stormwater drainage project, being implemented by Thimphu Thromde, forms part of the Thromde’s continued efforts to strengthen urban infrastructure, enhance flood resilience, and improve the city’s drainage systems for the benefit of residents and the urban environment.
