The Mid-Term Review of the 13th Five-Year Plan for Thimphu Thromde was convened under the chairmanship of the Hon’ble Prime Minister to assess progress and identify emerging priorities.
The review noted steady progress in the implementation of key initiatives, particularly in enhancing urban services and infrastructure, contributing to improved service delivery and overall development within the Thromde.
It also highlighted ongoing challenges associated with rapid urban growth, including increased pressure on public services and infrastructure. The need to strengthen capacity and expand essential services to meet growing demand was emphasized.
The Hon’ble Prime Minister underscored the importance of planning and development in recognition of Thimphu’s role as the capital city, emphasizing the need to unlock its full potential as a growth center. In light of the development of Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC), he highlighted the importance of further strengthening Thimphu as a vibrant, well-planned, and resilient capital.
