Thimphu Thromde celebrated the launch of the 27 new city buses, the smart cards and the mobile app Gaykid Ride: City Bus Service as well as the New routes.

While clearing the sewerage chambers of a blockage yesterday in Changzamtok, these clothing items were discovered to be causing the blockage. Again, we request the public to be mindful of where they dump their waste.

With the deadline for the Four Lane Road nearing, almost 90% of the blacktopping work has been completed.

Littering and illegal dumping of waste on the streets and drains can cause significant environmental issues, the main one being blocking of stormwater drains which increases flooding and erosion during monsoon soon.

The area above Wangchhu Lam, near the Flyover bridge, was a previously neglected area with overgrown weeds and plants but it will now be turned into a multi-tiered garden landscape.

The rapid urbanisation of Thimphu and the ever-increasing migrant population means there is a growing demand for efficient public services and infrastructure such as transportation.

Thanks to the support of the public, during the Tshechu Holidays, we finished laying the GSB (Granular Sub Base) from the Old Zilukha Roundabout till the Supreme Court, which stretches about 850m.
