Thimphu Thromde, in collaboration with the National Land Commission (NLC), inaugurated the Continuously Operating Reference System (CORS) today. This milestone marks a significant enhancement in geospatial infrastructure and survey accuracy within Thromde jurisdiction.
The project was implemented through a cost-sharing model with a total allocation of Nu. 3 million—Nu. 2 million contributed by Thimphu Thromde and Nu. 1 million by the NLC.
With the inauguration complete, the system will now be operationalized and managed as guided by the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Thimphu Thromde and the NLC. This advancement will greatly strengthen our geospatial capabilities and support more accurate, efficient, and reliable land-related services for the public.
